Nuwara Eliya
9 October 2012
The first trip for the 10 children of our new Sunset Villa home was to Nuwara Eliya in the beautiful Sri Lankan high country, with visits to a few sites along the way; we were accompanied by our home benefactor Charlyne Yi from the US, along with Leigh Righton from Canada, and OSI's dear friend Jennifer Hee who also provided for our excursion
Our Day
We departed our Sunset Villa home in Kandy at about 8:00am and bought breakfast snacks along the way. After an hour of travel,
our first stop was at Glenloch Tea Estate where we toured a tea factory and enjoyed a cup of tea and the wonderful views. We
then continued on for another hour to Nuwara Eliya town where we enjoyed a lunch of rice and curry followed by a leisurely walk
through beautiful Victoria Park. Late in the afternoon we departed Nuwara Eliya, stopping mid-way to Kandy to visit the
remarkable, scenic, and historic Sri Bhakta Hanuman Hindu temple near Ramboda.

We are grateful to Jennifer Meleana Hee from the US for providing a memorable day and first trip for our Sunset
Villa children. Jenn previously served as voluntary OSI liaison for our Bulgaria site and is a dear friend and supporter of
all of OSI's efforts. Thanks also to Leigh Righton from Canada and Charlyne Yi from the US
for accompanying us and for all of the attention and photography instruction provided to the girls. Charlyne's efforts
provided for the establishment of our Sunset Villa home, so it was wonderful to have her accompany us on our first trip!
